Construction and Operations Manager

The Construction and Operations Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of construction projects and ongoing operations within our organization. This multifaceted role requires a combination of technical expertise, electrical engineering, leadership skills, and project management prowess to ensure the successful execution of construction projects and the seamless functioning of operational facilities. Periodic travel is required. |

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: |
Construction Management: · Manage the contractor on overall construction activities on assigned projects, including but not limited to contractor management, material management, construction (EPC) and logistics efforts. · Responsible for the development of and/or review of construction plans, outage coordination, commissioning planning and safety planning. · Interfaces directly with the contractor to report progress, costs, schedule, and risks. · Prepare reports reflecting project status, schedule, and project uncertainties. · Ensures compliance with contract standards and processes. · Oversee various and specific proposal development efforts that accurately define the project scope, schedule, and budgets.
Operations Management: · Develop, implement, and manage routine and long-term maintenance plans. · Inspect facilities as required per maintenance plans. · Manage maintenance contractor. · Manage critical spare parts inventory. · Provide storm outage support (emergency response planning).
Development: · Support project development team. · Manage field survey contractors. · Support permitting activities. · Gather required site and customer information. · Assist in developing project budgets and schedules.
Electrical Engineering: · Lead the electrical design process to create world class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of projects. · Lead the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting electrical plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs. · Apply expert knowledge of commonly used electrical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry. · Lead field inspections, installation, measurements, or calculations for clients. · Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop new business opportunities. · Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
Performs other duties as assigned and reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Education and Experience: |
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (work-related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree). · Expert knowledge of the National Electric Code, National Electric Safety Code, USDA Rural Utilities Service applicable standards of construction and material requirements required · Electric utility experience at a supervisory level in installation of distribution and transmission facilities required · Project management experience in large industrial and utility electric system projects required · Familiarity with construction management software (Microsoft Projects) preferred · Experience in contract administration for large industrial and utility electric projects preferred · Industrial construction management training experience required

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: |
· Class A license is required, CDL recommended |
